The Amazing Race

hey there! it’s been a while, yes? yes. hahaha:)
so guess what! there was a youth group thingy tonight for sixth through eighth graders. it was called “The Amazing Race”. it was a photo scavenger hunt. that was probably the funnest thing i’ve done for a while:)) we had to go all around town looking for the craziest things! like we had to take a picture of a plane taking off, a person getting in a taxi cab, a train passing, a yellow traffic light, and the sign of a church. some of the crazier things we had to take pictures of were road kill, people at a cemetary, people getting married and a license plate that had a C and a Q on it. nobody really got the license plate, but one team did look it up on their iPhone and took a picture of it with their camera. the took a picture of a phone that had a picture on it. silly boys! who ever took the most pictures of the stuff on the list and was back in an hour and a half would win. my team won! we won a certificate that said that our youth pastor would take us out for dinner and a movie. i’m super excited! so yeah, it was a really fun day. that’s all i’ve got at the moment! peace!

Angels

Angels come down.
They call my name.
They smile.
Their wings and robes are whiter than snow, for snow is filthy.
I hear them sing.
It is beautiful.
They smile at me.
They know who i am.
In the midst of the singing, I hear “Separate.”
The angels split into two rows; in the middle He is standing there.
“Come. Do not be afraid,” He says
“I am Jesus. Redeemer, Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End
And I am your Best Friend!”

The Courage To Walk

this is a short poem i wrote in the seventh grade. i have no idea where this came from, but i remember sitting in physical science and writing this. i love it.

Why me? Why now?
I’m going through this, but how?
I would like to stand up,
But i’m sitting down.
I want to get up, yet i fear
The end is close, so very near.
I finally get up to walk around,
Everyone stares; There is no sound.
I then go back to cheer myself on,
I did it! I got up and won.

Roses Are Red

Roses are red, Violets are blue

Here are some reasons I really love you

You are so nice, so funny and kind

I love that you always have me in mind

Like Bonnie and Clyde, like Kanga and Roo,

We are a pair, not one but two.

I love it when you talk to me

Because with you I feel so free.

Your soft, brown, puppy dog eyes

Are some that make me never want to cry.

I hate it when we say goodbye

But I know it’s not the end,

Because I know you’re always there

You are more than just a friend.

it’s a party in the SCA!

the original song is called “party in the USA” by miley cyrus. the volleyball girls decided that we should change the words so we can get pumped up for our games. it is now called “party in the SCA” by the volleyball girls at SCA. so now this is a blog about this weekend…

saturday: SCA Lady Lions Varsity volleyball team won their tournament against Gospel Light. Good job ladies!
CITYFEST! i went to city fest (which was AHMAZZZING!) the day was fun, but when sunset came, the music came! Truby was okay, but not really my thing. then Anthony Evans who has a really cool voice. next was Craig Morgan, some country singer that i didn’t like. then TOBYMAC! i love me some tobymac! he is the bomb dot com! i liked DC Talk back in the day. they were my favorite band in the whole wide world! ♥DC Talk♥.

sunday: Church
MORE CITYFEST! miranda, jenni, dallas and i worked at these inflatable jumpers things for an hour and a half. yeah, it was interesting. later we went down to the stage and listened to more people like Seventh Day Slumber, Newsboys and Kirk Franklin. Pretty amazing!!!

monday: Merit Day- that means i got a day off of school for not getting written up. go me!!!

G.I. Deon Goes To War

This short story was an assignment in my seventh grade Bible class. Mrs. Mitchell (the teacher for that class way back when -okay, okay… in 2007-) gave us the title and the first sentence and told us write a little story. This won funniest and most creative.

G.I. Deon Goes To War

Once upon a time, a soldier by the name of G.I. Deon faced the challenge of a lifetime…
There was a massive war going on on the planet of Cheeses. The people from the planets of Crackers and Salami had ganged up on poor Cheeses. Crackers and Salami had declared war!!! G.I. Deon didn’t know what to do! he was so scared and so nervous, he couldn’t sleep for days (more like nights, but you know what i mean.) A week later war had started. German Salami, Goulda, and Saltine Crackers were justa flying by. The people weren’t fighting though… Their stomachs were rumbling and wouldn’t stop. So they all sat down and started to nibble, and then gobble (I don’t blame ‘em!) After they ate all the different kinds of crackers and cheeses and salamis, they were all too fat to fight, so there was peace.

You. you are a beautiful young woman and i don’t know if i could live my life without you. you are simly amazing.
You. i still love you, no matter what. it may be over, but i when i say forever, i mean forever. you are my best friend.
You. why are you so conceited? i just don’t understand what you see in yourself.

You. you are the encourager, my ecourager. you know exactly what to say, when to say, and how to say. nobody knows just how miraculous you are.
You. you need to step off. i don’t care how much you want to help, all you are acheiving is making it worse.
You. why don’t you speak? there is no point in silence. this is tearing up our relationship. this now dead realtionship.
You. beleive it or not, you are not all you crack yourself up to be. you are not as strong. not as fast. not as smart. not as tough. don’t be so puffed up.

Ashes of the Dead

This is a poem i wrote in the seventh grade during a free period. The reason these words even came to my mind were because my daddy had moved out, and I was basically depressed. I had almost no contact with him for two years…I was not a happy camper. Here she is:

“Ashes of the Dead”

Ashes of the dead surround me
They make me feel beautiful as they lie there dark and gray.
I find comfort here
I am not scared
I am loved.
I feel the breeze,
It’s picking up
It blows faster, harder, colder.
The wind picks up the ashes,
Ashes of the dead.
My white dress
Now covered in gray.
The ashes are being formed by the wind.
Why? What into?
These ashes
These beautiful ashes,
My father come back to hug me.

hhhhmmmmm…. i think i’ll talk about music today… what do you think? sounds good? GREAT!

so first of all, have you heard of the band Machina? well they are flat out the BEST band in the world!
then there’s We Are The Fallen and they are also freakin’ aMaZiNg!
Tokio Hotel is the best German band i have ever heard, and i know… i’ve heard some really horrible stuff! hahaha:)
Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands. i love… well… everysong they have ever written and performed!

i’ve got amillion more bands but i just don’t have the time!
